Happy New Year!

I was thinking I'd get one last post written in December, but the month (like the ones before it) was completely packed full of work, finals, family visits, wedding progress and projects.

We've crossed the 6-month line on our countdown to the wedding! We will be sending out our save the date cards this week, and then I'll post a note about them here. Mom and I also made a big dent in a DIY fabric project while we were together in Indianapolis (thanks, Mom!). Other progress we've made includes choosing our photographers - we're very happy with the way the process worked out on that front. We should be seeing our menu from the caterers soon and then we'll be looking forward to a tasting sometime later this winter.

Last night I bought some fresh flowers at Whole Foods - why not start the year with beautiful things? - and I'm loving the white hydrangea with green and purple accents. I arranged them in a large white pitcher that I also love that came from Ikea. I love knowing that however the flowers work out they will be bright and pretty.

I'm also enjoying these winter-y leaves and berries that I brought home from my future in-laws' house in Virginia.

It was so lovely to get to visit several of our family groups in the days between Christmas and New Year's eve, but it certainly is nice to be home again.
